Obituary for Greg Hart

Greg Hart, 51, died on February 7th 2018 from the effects of thyroid cancer. Greg was the son of Jim Hart and Mary Hart (Derr). Greg is survived by his sister Leslie Hart-Davidson, brother-in-law Bill Hart-Davidson and niece Lillian, Uncle Arthur (Sylvia) Derr and Aunt Patricia (Cramer) King, numerous cousins, and his best friend Adam Grieser, his brother from another mother. Greg was a lifelong resident of Springfield, Ohio and graduate of Springfield North High School in the class of 1985. He was a cat person. Two felines, Annie and Eric (Cartman), were especially beloved. Greg loved sci-fi movies, roller coasters, and catsup, though not all together. He worked for many years as a merchandiser for PepsiCo. But he only drank Coke (sorry guys). He wrote screenplays - thrillers, romances, and comedies - and had a few of these optioned by studios. He was quiet but thoughtful with a wicked sense of humor that was visible in his smile. Greg was a very healthy person with few vices, a ripped physique in his '50's, and a full head of hair. If you knew him, his passing will seem sudden and senseless. It is. He will be deeply missed by his friends, co-workers, and family. His life will be celebrated with a Chicken Strip Sendoff at the Courtyard Marriott Springfield Downtown on Saturday, February 17 beginning at 5pm.
