JUDY L. (RICE) WOLLENHAUPT, 59, of Springfield died Thursday evening, May 8, 2003 in Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born July 26, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Donald Rice and Evelyn (Cardosi) Powers. Judy was a 1961 graduate of Springfield High School. She had retired as an Administrative Assistant from Cooper Energy Services in 2000 after twenty-eight years of service. She was a member of Davidâ€(TM)s United Church of Christ in Kettering and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority serving in several positions during her membership. Judy was named their Woman of the Year in 1983-84. She was the Secretary of the Fox Ridge Condominium Association for five years. Judy was an inspiration to many cancer survivors in the Clark County area giving many speeches about her experiences.
Her survivors include her mother of Springfield; husband of 13 years, Richard A. Wollenhaupt; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Al Fulk of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Beth Bushu of Mooresville, North Carolina; step-son, Scott Wollenhaupt of Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Merrelyn Powers, Randy and Merry Powers, all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Patrick, Nicholas, Samantha, and Michael; nephew, Andrew (Emilee) Powers of Springfield; her extended family, Fred E. Peters family; and many, many special friends. She was preceded in death by her birth father during World War II in Pearl Harbor and father, Edward L. Powers; husband, Robert H. Peters; and a niece, Amy M. (Powers) Stanley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, SPRINGFIELD Monday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in First United Church of Christ, 2000 East High Street, Springfield Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev.
