Hannah Long Dixon, 71, of Springfield, died Wednesday January 13, 2010 in Oakwood Village.

She was born June 12, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Dave G. and Pauline (McMahan) Long.

Hannah was a member of Plattsburg United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Northeastern High School Class of 1956. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio State University and her Master's Degree from Wittenberg University. She taught in the Springfield City School District for thirty-five years and served on the Springfield City School Board for nine years.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas B. Dixon; sister, Sarah (Tom) Wiegel of Plattsburg; brother, David G. (Dee) Long of Springfield; two nephews, Kurt (Jackie) Wiegel of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Dave (Sarah) Long of Charlotte, North Carolina; three nieces, Hana Wiegel of Springfield, Jennifer Long of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kara (Tarik) Hameed of Charlotte, North Carolina; great-nieces and great-nephews, Davis Long, Emmy Hameed, Josh Wiegel, Emma Wiegel and Eliza Wiegel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday January 16, 2010 in the Plattsburg United Church of Christ with Rev. Glennyce Grindstaff officiating.

Burial will be in Plattsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 2888 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
