EVELYN L. GREGORY, 92, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday morning, May 7, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Wellston, Ohio on July 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Ollie and Flossie (Eddy) Phillips.
She was a graduate of Wellston High School and attended Miami Jacobs Business College. In 1996, Evelyn retired following 22 years of service to Community Hospital. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the American Business Women's Association, life member of the Ohio PTA past presidents, Warder Park PTA, past member of the National Secretary's Association, and the Springfield Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Michael) Rimas of Vandalia and Lynette (David) Zeller of Springfield; five grandchildren, Anthony (Vanessa) Rimas, Vincent Rimas, Olivia (Vedran) Nosic, Gregory (Amy) Zeller, and Joseph Zeller; a great granddaughter, Lilyana Rimas; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Phillips of Wellston; a special cousin, Eleanor Giacomelli of Bergenfield, New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Mondo Gregory in 1997 and two brothers, Everett and Donald Phillips.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
Evelyn's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
