Carol K. (Jones) Tanner, 82, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in the Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on May 26, 1934, in Farmersville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ivan and Helen (Cook) Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Tanner Jr., whom she married in 1969, sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Robert Andrews. Carol was a beautician and co-owner of Tanner’s Service at Indian Lake. She was Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star at Bellefontaine, and Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary at Indian Lake. Survivors include: daughter, Christina Tanner of Springfield, grandchildren: Rebekah Edwards, Scott Maddox and Ashleigh Maddox; great grandchildren: Cleora and Joshua Edwards Jr.; three step-sons: Raymond “Butch” (Carolyn) Tanner, Larry Tanner, and Tim (Carol) Tanner; eight step grandchildren: Nickie, Tara, Lisa, David, Kelly, Kylie, Jeremy and Maycie; several step great grandchildren, one niece, Robyn Cummings, three nephews: Dan Andrews, Robert Andrews Jr., and James Andrews, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and many good friends at the Masonic Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 11-1:00 p.m. in the Ohio Masonic Home where a celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Bruce Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery in Montgomery County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Ohio Masonic Home.
