Stanley M. Ruckel of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2017. He was born November 21, 1926, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, and was the son of Gilbert and Eva (Gasaway) Ruckel. He was a veteran of World War II where he served his country as a member of the United States Army in the South Pacific, primarily in Guam and Cebu Island, Philippines. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he farmed in southern Ohio where he met his wife-to-be, Betty Kinnett, then later made his way to Springfield where he worked at White Motors Company (Cooper Cameron Corporation) and retired after 30 years of service. He was a long-time member of First Christian Church where he served faithfully as a Communion usher. He was a wonderful grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren who he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Michael Ruckel, his sister, Margaret Ruckel, and sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law Thelma (Marvin) Maxwell and Dorothy (Donald) Schroeder.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Miami Valley and the fourth floor skilled care staff at the Springfield Masonic Community for their loving care and kindness.

A private service for family members will be held at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Brian Borton of First Christian Church before traveling to the Rose Hill Burial Park where his body will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley, 1948 N. Limestone St, Springfield, OH, 45503.
