Obituary for Richard A. Troxell

Richard Allen Troxell of South Charleston peacefully passed away June 28th, 2018, on the farm where he was born. He was born on September 1st, 1927, the son of the late William and Marie (McMahan) Troxell. He spent 90 years blessing everyone he encountered by never meeting a stranger. For 65 of those 90 years, he cared deeply for his wife, Mary (Agle) Troxell. Along with his wife, Richard is survived by his three children: Rick (Jeanne) Troxell, Tom (Julie) Troxell, Amy (Tim) Elliott, eight amazing grandchildren: Josh (Chelsea), Charlie (Lori), Luke (Heidi), Chris, Jake (Shannon), Matt (Stephanie), Jeff (Ashley), and Rachel (Jon), and nine beautiful great grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of the Plattsburg United Church of Christ. For 40+ years, he was a leader in the Harmony Township Livestock 4-H Club by striving to make the best better. Being a farmer, Richard always believed he was closer to God while he drove his tractor. In his best pair of bib overalls, he truly enjoyed working around the farm and driving in his truck while beside his best four-legged friend, Lucky. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 2-5:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Plattsburg United Church of Christ Memorial Fund or the donor’s favorite charity.
