Obituary for Milton Richard Ogden

MILTON RICHARD OGDEN, 87, of Springfield, passed away in his home on Tuesday afternoon, January 2, 2018. He was born in Columbus on December 12, 1930, the son of the late Richard Tyler and Ellen (Rockwell) Ogden. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, having been stationed with the 374th Communications Squadron in Tachikawa, Japan. Milt attended Wittenberg College where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He was a member of Rockway Evangelical Lutheran Church and Anthony Lodge 455 F. & A.M. In 1986, he retired as a supervisor from International Harvester following 38 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Martha J. (Diehm) Ogden; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas M. and Monica Ogden of Whitehall, Michigan; and two grandchildren, Allie K. and Stephen D. Ogden.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Anthony Lodge services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Milt’s funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor William Schwochow officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
