Obituary for Linda Lorraine Cornell

LINDA LORRAINE (SCOTT) CORNELL, 76, of Tipp City, passed away on Sunday morning, October 15, 2017 in Grandview Hospital, Dayton, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Springfield on August 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Smith) Scott Sr.

Linda was a life-long caregiver, working as an LPN at Mercy Medical Center and later as a patient advocate at St. John Nursing Home. She is survived by three children, Denise (Steve) Tripodi of League City, Texas, Kirt (Jenny) Cornell of New Carlisle and Eric Cornell of Springfield, Tennessee; a brother, James (Darlene) Scott of Miamisburg; five grandchildren, Beth (Chris) Johnson, Stephen (Kimberly) Tripodi, Chris (Jade) Tripodi, Thomas (Alex) Tripodi, and Jonathan Tripodi; six great grandchildren, Elijah, Christian, Skyler, Stephanie, Rylie, and Zachary; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cornell; two sisters, Iona Bryan and Ramona Grimes; and two brothers, Francis Scott Jr. and Donald Scott.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A service in celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Seekins officiating. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
