Obituary for Leonard A. Bishop

LEONARD A. BISHOP, 93, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 28, 2018 at Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born in Clark County on June 17, 1924, the son of the late Lawrence and Mabel (Leonard) Bishop. A life-long farmer, Leonard was proud to have worked with his son and grandson on the family farm for over 70 years, raising both crops and livestock. He was a member of North Hampton Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 71, years, Emilie R. (Circle) Bishop; son, Rod (Jody) Bishop; grandson, Jason (Jennie) Bishop; two great grandchildren, Kendall and Reid Bishop; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Dean Bowermeister. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Bowermeister and Mary Yoder.

Leonard’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Monday in the North Hampton Community Church with Pastor Jim Welch officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am until the time of service.

Burial will be in Myers Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Hampton Community Church or Forest Glen Health Campus.
