Obituary for Kenneth A. Pence

KENNETH A. PENCE, 74, of New Carlisle, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday evening, February 8, 2018. He was born in Champaign County on April 4, 1943, the son of the late Paul and Virginia (Huenke) Pence. Ken retired from Robbins & Myers following 41 years of service and following his retirement, he enjoyed helping his son, Brent on his farm. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, New Carlisle Sportsmen’s Club and Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church, Tipp City.

Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy C. (Allen) Pence; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Christine Pence of New Carlisle; and his granddaughter, Paige, whom he idolized and enjoyed spending time with her and attending her livestock shows. Also surviving is a sister, Susan (Steve) Pond of Urbana; brother, Dick (Vonda) Pence of New Carlisle; sisters-in-law, Pat Allen and Janet Pence; brother-in-law, Ed (Cindy) Allen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Pence and brother-in-law, Norman Allen.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Ken’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Casstown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45424.
