Obituary for Janis Hopkins

Janis Hopkins, 95, of Springfield, entered into eternal rest on August 6, 2017 in her residence. She was born October 11, 1921 in Springfield, Ohio. She was a member of the First Church of God at Maiden Lane. Her faith and church family were very important. Janis was preceded in death by Ernest A. Hopkins, her husband of 53 years; daughter, Susan Hopkins Cline and son, Wayne B. Hopkins. Janis is survived by her children, Rick, Ron (Kay), and Larry (Anna) Hopkins and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Janis had a number of interests, fulfilled lifelong dream to Ireland; she enjoyed playing the organ and piano, regularly at Third Church of God. She was also an avid gardener and would spend hours nurturing her flowers to splendor. She was also well read, at times, reading a book a week, this enabled her to be able to discuss a wide range of topics or subjects. Indeed, Janis was a very interesting person to know and talk with at length. Moreover, her church family held her in high esteem.

Services honoring her life were held. Burial was held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
