Obituary for Frances McFann

Frances Levada McFann “Fran”, age 74 of Casa Grande, Arizona entered Glory on October 3, 2017 following her short but fierce battle with cancer at the Hospice of the Valley Lund Home, surrounded by her beloved family members. Frances was born in Milford Center, Ohio on October 19, 1942 to James and Irene Hall.

She graduated high school from Northeastern Local School District. Frances was married to Edward Vinton McFann of Mechanicsburg, Ohio on July 21, 1963; their love and commitment to each other endured for over 54 years. Frances retired from the United States Postal Service as Postmaster of West Liberty, Ohio. She enjoyed bright PINK anything, maintaining perfectly manicured nails, Starbuck’s caramel Frappuccino’s, knitting, reading Danielle Steele, shopping for jewelry, collecting stamps, Southern Gospel music, bowling, and puzzles. She was an advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project, ASPCA/Humane Society and National Wildlife Federation. Her grandchildren served as the “apple of her eye” and gave her many happy and joyful moments. She was ecstatically anticipating the birth of her first great-granddaughter in January and will be celebrating that birth in spirit. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Springfield, Ohio and attended the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene in Chandler, Arizona at the time of her death.

Frances is survived by her husband Edward V. McFann (76), son Dr. Gregory A. McFann (48) and his wife Dr. Lori B. McFann (47), and four grandsons, Wesley A. J. & Ciana McFann (23), Elliot V. McFann (19), Benjamin A. McFann (16), and Parker C. McFann (8) of Casa Grande, Arizona, sister Marci & Fred Williams, brothers Robert & Sandy (deceased) Hall, Eddie & Earlene Hall and Paul & Ellen Hall and sister-in-law Betty Hall as well as many other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Irene Hall, and younger brother Timothy Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of the Valley Lund Home, 1982 E. Woodside Court, Gilbert, AZ 85297. The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks and deepest gratitude to the staff of Floor 2B at the Mercy – Gilbert Medical Center, Gilbert, Arizona and the nurses of the Lund Family Hospice Home of Gilbert, Arizona.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 in the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union in Urbana, Ohio. The family will receive guests prior to the services from 11:00 – 1:00. Rev. Steven Anstine of the Kennard Church of the Nazarene will be officiating. Interment will follow the Memorial Service at Rose Hill Burial Park in Springfield, Ohio. Online tributes may be sent through www.littletonandrue.com
