Obituary for Donald C. "Pete" Mapp

Donald Charles “Pete” Mapp, “Pitchin Pete” of Pitchin, Ohio went “to go party with his old friends” on November 7, 2017. He was “four score” and six (86) as he liked to say. He is survived by three daughters: Deb and Steve Kimble, Sue Cook and Dana Jacks, and Cindy and Kirk Diehl. Three granddaughters: Heidi, Bobbi, and Keli, and one grandson, Pete. He had eleven great grandchildren. Many special friends, as he was host to “Sunday Services.” He saw the humor in everything and made sure everyone around him did also. If you were a friend, you could count on him for everything. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, a farmer, and worked many other trades through the years. He was a member and continued to support many organizations and charities throughout his life. Very special thanks to his wanna be son-in-law, Dana Jacks, who stayed with him for comfort and care during the past few months, along with his helper and great granddaughter, Alexis. Also, special thanks to his friends and neighbors, Amanda Anderson, Willy, Eddie, Aunt Betty, Gay, Pitchin and Hustead EMS, Greene Memorial Hospital, Comfort Keepers, and the Clark County Sheriff’s Department. Pete’s wishes to be cremated will be honored and he will rest in a very special place at the “Garlough Marble Orchard.” Per his request, there will be no memorial services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Wounded Warriors Foundation. Pete truly was “the gift that kept on giving.”
