Obituary for Don M. Firman

Don M. Firman, born May 14, 1929, son of Seldon and Bertha (Gilliland) Firman, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 while quietly in his sleep in Grove City, Ohio after several years of decline. He was a retiree of Hilltop Concrete Fairborn, Ohio. He was formerly a resident of Springfield, and more recently of Blue Creek, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lee (Marcene Margaret LaBelle) Firman, brothers, Arthur, Marion, Marvin Firman, sisters Loretta Sturgeon, and Geraldine Kohues, one son Steve A. Firman, one daughter Linda A. Szabo, and one granddaughter Shelly Ann (Firman) Burris.

He is survived by sons Don A. Firman and Mariam of Reynoldsburg, Mark A. and Liling Firman of Grove City, and John A. Firman of Columbus, Ohio, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren, in addition to nieces, nephews, friends including special friends Harlow and Linda Jenkins, and neighbors.

Don enjoyed his retirement years, spending time in these later years living in Blue Creek where he could garden, hunt, and enjoy the sounds and beautiful surroundings of living adjacent to a State Forest. He will be greatly missed by his sons and all those who remember him.
Memorial service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at Ferncliff Cemetery.
