Obituary for Dennis Q. Havens

Dennis Q. Havens, 79, of Springfield, after several years of failing health, fell asleep in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 4:30 am Wednesday, Nov 29, 2017, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Pike County, OH, May 29, 1938, to Lloyd and Jewell (Ferguson) Havens. He graduated from Greene Special School and worked as a farmer until his marriage in 1957 to Betty Lou Hall. He worked at White Superior Division, Cooper Energy Services retiring in 1999, and for many years pastored the Church of Jesus Christ in Yellowbud, OH.

He is survived by two daughters; Cheryl (TJ) Hunt of Chickasaw, AL, and Natalie (Timothy) Lincourt of Springfield, three granddaughters; Courtney (DJ) Sacramona, Jordan Phares, and Jessica Phares, a grandson; Adam (Jenna) Lincourt, and two great grandchildren; Wesley Sacramona and Madison Lincourt. He is also survived by a sister Bertie Newton of Springfield, two brothers; Delbert (Jackie) Havens of Springfield and Norvell (Ruth) Havens of Rome, GA; twenty nieces, nephews and their families; the Paul Family and the Hall Family. He was preceded in death by Betty, his wife and true love, both parents, a sister Norma Clark, niece Lois Ann Newton, and nephew Peter Newton.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, from 5-8:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent through
