Obituary for Brynton "Ben" Gibson

Reverend Brynton "Ben" Gibson, 76, of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 20, 1941, in Gallia County, Ohio the son of the late Elbert and Rosie Rebecca (Hall) Gibson. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara (Edmonds) Gibson. He served the Lord as an Evangelist with the Free Will Baptist Church for over 16 years. He preached at many churches in the region. Ben is also survived by his four children: Timothy (Laura) Gibson of Springfield, Terry (Lori) Gibson of Bellefontaine, Tami (James) Ickes of Findlay, and Troy (Joy) Gibson of Forest; numerous special beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, Dolly Harless of Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son who died at birth, Brian Gibson, sisters: Edith Reynolds and Ida Payne; and brothers: Curtis, James and Everett Gibson. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 5-8:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of his life and ministry will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
