SPRINGFIELD NEWS SUN
Bradley D. Booker, 35, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 10, 2017, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 11, 1982, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Sandy Schelsky and Wayne Booker. Brad graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Ministry. He was ordained through the Nazarene church and served in youth ministry and Senior Pastor. He simply enjoyed talking with people and caring for them. He loved kids and leading youth ministry. Brad was an avid Virginia Tech football fan. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Barbie Ogden, daughter Kiley Booker his mother, Sandy (Walter) Schelsky of Cortland, Ohio, his father, Vernon (Robin) Booker of Salem, Virginia, one brother, Justin Booker of Roanoke, Virginia three sisters: Renee’ (Josh) Shelor of Virginia, Samantha Tilley of Virginia, and Madison Schelsky of Cortland, Ohio; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and father-in-law, George Ogden of Springfield. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the High St. Church of the Nazarene, 1625 E. High St., Springfield. Friends may visit prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family for bereavement expenses.
