Obituary for Beverly Bertha Whitlatch

BEVERLY BERTHA (DUESING) WHITLATCH, 94 passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mildred (Rice) Duesing; her husband of almost 60 years, Robert H. Whitlatch and grandson, Jesse Whitlatch.

She is survived by her four children, Candice (Gary) Shively of North Canton, Ohio, Cynthia (Paul) Carter of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Donald (Carla) Whitlatch and Douglas (Raenell) Whitlatch of Springfield area; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Beverly was a graduate from The Ohio State University in nursing and later went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Nursing. She taught nursing for many years at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Community Hospital School of Nursing, Clark Tech and Wright State University. Many of her students have taken care of her through the years. She enjoyed playing bridge with the gals, painting and teaching her grandchildren to swim.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 12 pm to 1 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Daniel M. Powell officiating.

Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
