Obituary for Audrey L. Wight

Audrey L. Wight, 95, of Urbana, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in her home. She was born on April 15, 1922, in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Otto M. and Sarah (Turner) Martin. She spent her life as a devoted homemaker caring for her family. Audrey was the leader of her family and had a remarkable talent of singing. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leean J. Adkins in 1957, her son Leean J. Adkins Jr., brothers and sisters: Otto Eldon (Lille) Martin, Clarence Clifton (Margaret) Martin, Helen Alfreda (Raymond) Armstrong, and Nevade (Verna) Adkins.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald C. Wight, children: Leeona (Richard) Wiseman, William (Rosemary) Wight, Mary Helen Wight, Deborah (Donald) Burks, Donald (Emily) Wight, Roderick Wight, and Diana Adkins; sister, Lille Mae (Earl) Walton, grandchildren: Melinda (Douglas) Monteith, Abigal Wight, and Benjamin (Brenna) Wight; great grandchildren: Ashley and Kelsey Monteith, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dr. Steven Fewell officiating. Friends may gather from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
