Once you request the services of Littleton & Rue Funeral Home & Crematory, we will immediately put our experienced funeral professionals to work for you. A single, dedicated individual will stay in contact with you every step of the way and guide you through the decision-making process. He or she will carefully explain your options, make recommendations at your request, take care of all the small details, and ensure that you and your family’s personal touch is always present.
Rob Rue, CFSP / Funeral Director / Owner
ROB RUE graduated from Springfield North High School, Class of 1988. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Heidelberg College, a Bachelor of Mortuary Science from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, and an Associate of Arts in Practical Ministry from the F.I.R.E. (Fellowship for International Revival and Evangelism) School of Ministry. Although Rob has been working at the funeral home since the age of 13 washing the fleet of cars, he began his professional career as a Funeral Director with Littleton & Rue in 1995.
In January of 2004 Rob's father, Tom expanded family ownership and operations to his son and family friends Bill Hoelscher and Rob Kampman.
Rob serves on the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Convention and Facilities Authority, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Past-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nehemiah Foundation, graduate and Past President of Leadership Clark County, and is a current Candidate for Springfield City Commission. Rob is a member of the Academy of Funeral Service Practice and is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP).
On New Year's Eve 2002, Rob married his best friend Jenny (McNamara) Rue. They are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and fellowship with His Church. Rob and Jenny homeschool their five children: Zach, Lydia, Brock, Rachel and John Luke.
Robert F. Kampman / Funeral Director / Owner
ROBERT F. "Rob" KAMPMAN, was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio, graduated from Catholic Central High School, attended Wright State University, and completed his degree at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He has been helping Springfield families in funeral service for over 30 years and joined Littleton & Rue in 1997.
Rob is active in a variety of civic organizations, including Past-President of the Springfield Rotary Club, Springfield, past board member of Catholic Central School, Knights of Columbus Council #624, the Springfield Country Club, The Springfield Y and is a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
He and his wife Missy (Lawson) have two daughters, Lauren and Emily, and two sons, Casey and Joseph.
Bill Hoelscher / Funeral Director / Owner
BILL HOELSCHER, born and raised in Ohio, Bill attended Ball State University and received his Bachelor of Mortuary Science degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Bill's management and experience in funeral service for 25 years, his caring and knowledge have touched many families in the area.
Bill is a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Buckley Assembly; a member of the Springfield Rotary Club, and a graduate of Leadership Clark County.
Bill and his wife, Patty, have triplet boys, Cameron, Bailey, and Lucas.
John P. Detling / Funeral Director
JOHN P. DETLING, Funeral Director, is a graduate from Northwestern High School, Class of 1996. He began working at Littleton & Rue in March of 1997 as an assistant and has worked in every part of the funeral home operation. He later graduated from Clark State Community College and then graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2003 with a Bachelor of Mortuary Science. John has served families in Clark County as a funeral director for Littleton & Rue since 2004. In 2015 John was ranked in the top ten nationally by Graystone Associates for his excellent care and service to families.
He is a member of First Christian Church. John is a lifelong Springfield resident and the grandson of the late Judge Glenn E. Detling. He enjoys coaching basketball and training local athletes in his free time. He is married to Autumn Detling and together they have twin boys, Dominick and Dawson and two daughters, Kayla and Hannah. John serves the bereaved with great attention to detail. We are proud and grateful to have him a part of our team.
Thomas D. Rue, CFSP
TOM RUE is a native of Fairborn, Ohio attending Fairborn Public Schools, Urbana University, University of Cincinnati and is a 1965 graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He has been an Ohio-Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer since 1966. He has been employed in funeral homes in five different cities throughout central Ohio and since 1966 has been with the Littleton Funeral Home in Springfield. In 1973 he acquired part ownership in the company and in 1989, became sole owner and later changed the name to the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home. He is married to the love of his life, Lorann Rue for over 50 years. In 2015, Tom transitioned ownership of the funeral home to Rob Rue, Robert F. Kampman and Bill Hoelscher. He and Lorann enjoy wintering in Florida and spending time with their family and seven grandchildren.
In 2016 Tom was awarded with the Richard L. Kuss Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greater Springfield Chamber.
Tracy Colwell / Office Administrator
TRACY COLWELL, Office Administrator, began working at Littleton & Rue in 2007. Tracy is responsible for operation of the office and clerical detail. She is married to Rick Colwell and the mother of two children, Bret Nicolle and Brandon, and has two grandsons, Colton and Parker. She and Rick enjoy helping care for their family and riding Harley Davidsons.
Amy E. Cultice / Office Administrator
AMY E. CULTICE, Office Administrator, was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio and is a graduate from Northwestern High School, Class of 1995. She has been working at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home since August of 2014.
She is married to Scott Cultice and together they have three boys, Samuel, Spencer and Sawyer. Amy and her family attend First Christian Church.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, photography and watching her sons play soccer and baseball.
